With all hope lost, the Love Hashira Mitsuri joins the fray.Įpisode 5, 'Bright Red Sword' featured Muichiro hunting for his new blade, while also being confronted by Gyokko and his perverse 'art' featuring dead Swordsmiths. He attempts to turn the tide, almost rescuing Nezuko and Genya, but the pleasure demon persona, Karaku, returns and attacks the trio. Mid-battle with Hantengu (who has now split into four distinct demon personas), Tanjiro discovers they each represent an emotion: joy, anger, pleasure, and sorrow. Tanjiro is picked up by a swooping Hantengu, while Kotestu and Mist Hashira Muichiro have to deal with Gyokko's assault. It's revealed that Hantengu, especially, is extremely hard to kill: every time he is beheaded, his body splits in two and forms 'new' personas. Unfortunately for the pair, they don't get much time to dig into its origins as Upper Rank demons Hantengu and Gyokko invade the village. He uses it to shatter the mechanical doll, which reveals a centuries-old sword inside. The Mist Hashira is seen training with a mechanical training doll and Tanjiro, with the help of swordsmith child Kotestu, levels up his abilities with a new scent detection power. While there, he meets both the Love and Mist Hashiras.
Zenitsu and Inosuke are sent on separate missions while Tanjiro (with Nezuko in tow) heads to Swordsmith Village to get his sword repaired. On the villain side of things, Muzan Kibutsuji sends two of his Upper Rank demons, Gyokko and Hantengu, on a new quest. 9.As for the story so far: the premiere revealed the aftermath of the Entertainment District-shattering battle, with Tanjiro slowly recovering back at Hashira HQ. TWILIGHT ZONE CAST SERIES
Similarly, the cast of the 2002 revival featured a solid cluster of celebrities who were just beginning their careers in Hollywood, many of whom you may not have realized were on the series (hopefully, Jordan Peele’s take on the series makes space for an equal amount of familiar faces and blossoming talent). The original series-which aired its first episode in 1958-is revered for its showcase of witty, dark social commentary from classic writers of the ’50s and ’60s, including the series creator Rod Serling, as well as Ray Bradbury and Ambrose Bierce, but also for its introduction of actors on their way to stardom, such as Carol Burnett, Robert Redford, Burt Reynolds, William Shatner, and George Takei. Looking back, it does seem like the short-lived early-aughts revival of the midcentury classic took on the air of an after-school special, but given that the horror-comedy auteur Jordan Peele will be the host, narrator, and executive producer of the highly anticipated upcoming CBS All Access reboot of the anthology series, the new Twilight Zone may actually live up to its predecessor.

The Twilight Zone is a cult classic that has been reimagined and revived multiple times: once as a CBS series in the late 1980s, once as a made-for-TV movie in 1994, and again as a series in 2002 (on the now-defunct network UPN), hosted by Forest Whitaker.
